Guideline for Oral Presentation

1. Keynote presentations are scheduled in 30-minute blocks allowing for a 25-minute talk, followed by a 5-minute question and answer period. The moderator will notify you when your presentation reaches 22, 25 and 30 minutes.

2. Basically, invited speaker presentations are scheduled in 20-minute blocks allowing for a 17-minute talk, followed by a 3-minute question and answer period. The moderator will notify you when your presentation reaches 15, 17 and 20 minutes.

3. General oral presentations are scheduled in 15-minute blocks allowing for a 12-minute talk, followed by a 3-minute question and answer period. The moderator will notify you when your presentation reaches 10, 12 and 15 minutes.

4. All presentations must be compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 on the Windows PC platform (Macintosh not supported, sorry).

5. Please follow the file name convention: Session number_registration number_your family name.ppt
(e.g., G3_351_Jackson.ppt).

6. If your presentation includes video files, they will not work if they have not been copied onto the presentation laptop computer. Therefore, please ensure to submit copies of the videos when you submit your presentation.

7. Speakers should deliver a copy of their presentation on a USB memory stick to the staff at the onsite registration desk well in advance of their presentation time. Morning (before lunch time) presentations should be submitted by 17:00 on the day before the presentation, and afternoon (after lunch time) presentations by 12:00 on the presentation day.

8. Speakers will not be allowed to load presentations directly onto in-session computers nor will they be allowed to use personal laptops.
